The most expensive train in Asia: "Maharaj Express"

Speaking of the incredible luxury that only the rich can afford, one cannot fail to mention the Express Maharaja train, which runs through the territory of India. To ride in a compartment of this magnificent composition, tourists will have to pay $ 800 for each day of stay there, and when choosing a presidential suite - all 2500.

The express began to run from Calcutta da New Delhi back in 2010.

Each compartment has a rich appearance and is furnished very chic. The level of convenience and comfort here is also high: hot and cold water is always at the service of passengers, and you can even take a bath in the presidential suite. Air conditioners will adjust the indoor climate to your personal preferences, and a TV, DVD player and wireless Internet will not let you get bored on the go.

Although with such landscapes that travelers expect during a trip, it is simply impossible to get bored. That is why quite large windows are made in the train and each car has a special compartment with panoramic glazing.

The restaurant car in this luxury express train is not one, there are two of them. And despite the fact that the train itself is quite small and designed for less than a hundred passengers.


There is also an excellent bar, full of a variety of wines, as well as a gift shop where you can choose souvenirs for yourself and loved ones.

The Presidential Suite is located in a separate carriage, so no one can disturb its high-ranking guests. This VIP coupe consists of two rooms, a full bath and toilet.

The duration of the thematic tour on the "Maharaja Express" is 7-8 days, during which its passengers have time to visit more than ten of the most beautiful corners of India.

During the trip, the train stops every morning at the new station and is there almost all day to give tourists time to take a walk, see the sights and go shopping.

The "Express Maharaj" has a small composition, its capacity is designed for 88 people.
