The miracle of Nevada: a well for a well turned into a geyser

This is not a work of the surrealist artist and not the result of the work of the Photoshop master, but a really existing natural object located in Nevada, USA. The photograph is nothing but a geyser whose appearance is so unusual that it amazes and delights even the "seasoned" travelers.

An amazing creation of nature has a poetic name - Fly Geyser. The origin of this phenomenon is quite interesting. The fact is that at the initial stage of formation, people were involved in its appearance. In 1916, while drilling a well, workers touched a layer of underground geothermal water, which for a long time did not manifest itself. Until in the 1960s, mineral boiling water began to surface, forming an unusual landscape.

The height of the geyser, together with the pedestal, which also arose during the hardening of mineral salts, is more than 3 meters. And although the cones themselves rise 1.5 meters, they are constantly growing in height, as well as to the sides. Therefore, we can expect that over time this baby will significantly increase in size.

Geyser Fly noticeably enlivens the monotonous landscape of the Black Rock solonchak desert in which it is located. Interestingly, so far, few people even know about it among the residents of the United States and the state of Nevada. The thing is that for a long time he was in the territory of private estates, and only in 2016 the owners of this site sold the geyser and the surrounding land to Burning Man. Today, when access to this phenomenal object has been simplified, the organizers of the holiday have begun to include a visit to their tourist routes.
