What the American photographer from LIFE saw in 1960 as Soviet kindergartens

In the 60s of the last century, all the countries that were part of the USSR lived behind the Iron Curtain, which separated them from the rest of the world. And, as is always the case with something forbidden and hidden, they attracted the attention of the world community. Materials in the Western media about how our grandmothers, grandfathers and parents lived became sensational, and the publications in which they appeared immediately sold out.

One of these photo stories appeared in the famous U.S. magazine LIFE. Its author was the American photojournalist Carl Midans. That's what he saw in the kindergartens of the Soviet Union.
