Six Senses hotels open their first resort in Israel

Six Senses Shaharut introduces the rich biblical heritage of the Arava Valley in the Negev desert.

The charming, endless Negev Desert, which covers more than half of Israel, is amazing and diverse: rocky mountains, sandy valleys and sheer canyons are replaced by green oases, fields of flowering irises and anemones. South of the Negev is the Arava Valley, where the small settlement of Shaharut is located - the embodiment of traditional hospitality and generosity of the inhabitants of the desert. Here, on a majestic cliff, from where a magnificent panoramic view of the endless horizon and the sunset falling over the orange dunes opens, the new resort Six Senses Shaharut will be located. This inspirational atmosphere will add another dimension to the collection of natural corners of incredible beauty, where the Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas resorts are located.

Six Senses Shaharut accommodates 58 villas and suites, and is equipped with the Six Senses Spa brand name spa. The total area of the resort is about 18.8 hectares. The project is certified by the US Green Building Council in accordance with LEED (Energy Efficiency and Environmental Design Guidelines).

The Six Senses Shaharut architecture was designed to complement the desert landscape and preserve the natural landscape. All villas are built using local stone and pigments, and the landscape layout is complemented by flowers and cacti common in the region. The exterior lighting of the resort is designed to avoid too bright light, thereby preserving the impeccable clarity of the starry sky. Many design elements were created by artisans from the local community.

Accommodation options include deluxe rooms, one and two bedroom villas, as well as a presidential villa, all equipped with a private pool. The internal area of the rooms and villas varies from 46 sq.m (suites) to 100 sq.m (one bedroom villas) and 150 sq.m (two bedroom villas). The outdoor area is 12 sq. M for suites and 14 sq. M for villas. The internal area of the Presidential Villa with three bedrooms is 300 square meters, and its outdoor terrace is 72 square meters. m. Open all day, the restaurant offers a breakfast buffet, casual à la carte lunch and themed dinners using seasonal produce. The pool bar and grill bar will be open for lunch and dinner, while the Spa will also have a bar for freshly squeezed juices. The event room has an outdoor terrace and can accommodate up to 50 guests. Depending on the time of year, fresh produce will be collected in the resort gardens or provided by local farmers.

Six Senses Spa is equipped with single and double rooms for procedures, male and female steam rooms, a sauna and hammams. Six Senses (Six Senses Specialty) branded spa menus will complement traditional wellness treatments and the Six Senses Integrated Wellness (Wellness) program, which combines the preventive principles of oriental medicine and the results-oriented western trends. This innovative approach to maintaining health allows spa specialists to study and analyze the basic physiological biomarkers of the guest, to provide recommendations on nutrition and lifestyle, as well as to draw up an individual program of Spa-procedures, fitness classes and recreational activities. The spa is equipped with a 16-meter indoor pool, a 25-meter outdoor pool and a fully equipped gym. There is also a nail salon and a yoga studio.

The amazing Negev desert provides ample opportunities for active sports. A number of historical, archaeological and natural monuments are concentrated in the Arava Valley and the surrounding region, as well as opportunities for extreme sports such as off-road driving, rock climbing, mountain biking and snorkeling. Family entertainment is also available - hiking, camel or jeep safaris, workshops from local artisans, bird watching and wine tours. For younger guests who do not wish to join the adventures of their parents, the resort has a Kid's Den kids club.
