The magic of the mysterious island of Sumatra

We wandered around Sumatra without a definite plan, on the principle of "where the eyes look." And there was something to look at ...

We also drove the same Think, then spent several days in Bukittingi with a local deputy who gave us a free roof over our heads.

And then we arrived at Lake Maninjao and ... hung.

This place seemed to me a paradise.

I have not felt such harmony with nature for a long time. Well, I (as a person with a camera), of course, wanted to capture all this and share it with my readers.

For several days I wandered along the shores, climbed mountains, looked into small villages, and everywhere - magic!

Local life, of course, is inextricably linked with the lake, they live for them - they catch and breed fish, mussels.

Which is great, I have never seen here or heard the sound of an outboard motor. Fishermen prefer long hollowed wooden boats.

The fields around the lake smoothly pass into picturesque terraces on the slopes of the mountains and into large ponds full of fish. Narrow paths between ponds sometimes allow only one person to pass.

Buffalos with beautiful slanting eyes roam the shores.

And I also photographed a lot of local residents. They, surprisingly, were complacent, no objections, only a friendly smile, a welcome gesture and often an invitation to the house.

The natural beauty of nature is skillfully emphasized and enhanced by the care of local people.

They know how to live beautifully!

You must admit that in our life this expression often acquires a slightly different subtext, which has a distant relation to true beauty.

This beauty, perhaps, does not need to be strengthened, but I tried) - a filter in Photoshop.

Do you think such an interpretation is appropriate?

You might think that this sea is water to the horizon!

No, just Maninjao is a rather large lake of Sumatra. And the sunsets here are not inferior in beauty to the sea.

The only thing that does not fit into the concept of paradise is, perhaps, daytime heat and humidity.

But the evening hours are truly magical!
