Mexico's natural pink lagoon - a place worthy of your own Instagram account

If Instagram did not exist, then it would have to be created at least for the sake of this amazing place - a natural pink lagoon located in Mexico. Its shade is so bright that most people find it hard to believe that it is real. Nevertheless, it is absolutely real and natural place. And its color has an excellent scientific explanation.

The lagoon can be found in the small fishing village of Las Coloradas on the east coast of the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula. Neither magic nor dye was used to give this color to water. Puppet pink is the result of the habitat of red plankton and shrimp, which paint the water with their chemicals. And this fabulous landscape is crowned with piles of salt, because once Las Coloradas was the town where it was mined.
