In Venice, a sculpture reminiscent of global warming

Global warming is a time bomb that we must defuse before it explodes. To draw more attention to this pressing problem, the Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn created a monumental sculpture for the Venice Biennale in 2017. Quinn is widely known for always including elements of the human body in his work, and this project was no exception. The author called his creation "Support" and depicted two huge arms rising from the canal to support the Ca 'Sagredo Hotel. This is a visual statement that people should respond appropriately to global warming before it is too late.

Reflecting on the two sides of man - creative and destructive - Quinn calls for our ability to make changes and rebalance the world around us. “Venice is a city of floating art that has inspired culture for centuries. But to continue to do this, it needs the support of our generation and the future because it is threatened by climate change and destruction,” says the artist.
