20 dramatic shots of recent protests in France

For more than a month, large-scale mass protests and strikes continued in France. Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets to take part in demonstrations aimed at repealing the new government labor law. There were some hassles with the police, arson, fireworks and paint.

People simply could not calmly accept the new reform, because according to it, employers have the opportunity to increase the number of working hours bypassing trade unions, negotiating directly with employees. In addition, the procedure for dismissing employees is simplified.

The words of President Francois Hollande also "added fuel to the fire." He stated that he would not change his decision regarding the new law and advised the protesters not to waste time.

Protesters blocked the road to the tank farm and set fire to tires.

Due to protests, almost all Total refineries have completely stopped working.

In the country there was a shortage of gasoline, because of which, in order to refuel, motorists had to go around more than one gas station and stand in long lines.

The streets were also restless.

People armed themselves with paints and fumes.

All forces were thrown to guard order.

The railways in Rennes were also blocked by protesters.

Many were arrested.

Cards with the image of French Prime Minister Manuel Waltz, who became an enemy of the people, were distributed on the streets.
