Balance: ocean drawings telling how quickly the underwater world dies out

The fact that our planet and at the same time we have serious problems are being talked about at every step today. To be silent about this would really be foolish: our world is on the verge of a catastrophe, and humanity needs to get as much information as possible about existing threats. All serious people — pop stars, politicians, art representatives — all who can convey their message to the masses, are now taking up the matter in this serious matter.

One such person is British illustrator Matt Miller. He recently teamed up with the PangeaSeed Foundation to work on a project called Equilibrium. The action is designed to raise awareness of pressing environmental issues, in particular the oceans. As part of the collaboration, Miller created colorful illustrations that tell how vulnerable underwater ecosystems are and how quickly marine inhabitants die out.

The artist’s vivid drawings, made using thin pencils, watercolors and acrylic ink, depict a colorful underwater world in which tropical fish, marine crustaceans and colorful corals live together in harmony. Other amazing creatures lurk behind lush marine vegetation. The meaning of these rich illustrations is that each motif drawn plays an important role in the overall play, just as every single creature in the ocean plays an important role in the overall well-being and balance of the marine environment.
