Australia, UAE and other countries that pollute the most

Regular carbon dioxide emissions during human activities inevitably have a detrimental effect on the environment. And the amount of these emissions increases every year. So, if you believe the information of scientists, droughts and a decrease in the number of forests, which are considered natural sinks of harmful CO2, lead to an even greater concentration of gas in the atmosphere. As a result, this year will be a record for pollution.

Since 1958, an interesting study has been conducted at the Hawaiian Observatory Mauna Loa. It regularly collects data on the composition of the atmosphere and compares them. According to observations, the level of carbon dioxide over the years has grown by 30 percent!

The key culprits of air pollution are power plants, iron and steel and petrochemicals. A few years ago, statistics were even collected that determined the countries with the highest carbon dioxide emissions per capita. And so who took the leading position.

Qatar came first. One of the richest countries in the world emits about 40 tons of carbon dioxide per capita into the air. The main reason is that Qatar is a major producer of petroleum products, and oil reserves are unusually large.

Another oil rich country is Kuwait. Therefore, he took the 2nd line of the rating. Despite the relatively small population, the energy and chemical industries are highly developed, and the amount of harmful substances sent to the atmosphere is about 25 tons.

The UAE also entered the top three. The fabulously prosperous state among the endless sands emits almost 22 tons of CO2 per capita.

In fourth place is Australia. You may be surprised, but this country uses coal to generate electricity, and about 70 percent of all energy here is generated from this mineral. It is not surprising that the share of emissions of gas poisoning the atmosphere here amounted to 18.5 tons.

In the last place is another rich state - Turkmenistan. This resource-rich Asian country emits 17.5 tons of carbon monoxide per capita.
