The British traveled around the world on a yacht 8 years ago and are still traveling

Jess and James decided to change their lifestyle in 2011 and go on a world tour on a yacht. However, the journey did not end with them: the couple still plow the expanses of the ocean, while managing to create a family and have three children.

Although it all started with a joke. Walking along the seashore, Jess then jokingly told her boyfriend: "Why don't we drop everything and go around the world on a yacht?" James laughed, because Jess suffered from seasickness ... And a year later they set sail.

Initially, Jess and James planned to go around the world in a couple of years and return to their native UK. However, they were so fascinated by life on the yacht that after some time they got married, and a little later, the first daughter, Rocket, was born. Today, the girl is five years old, she has a three-year-old brother Indigo and six-month-old sister Outem.

Jess says the yacht is safe for children, although it may seem that it is not. The speed of the yacht under sail is 9 kilometers per hour, every day millions of children are transported along highways, where the speed is several times higher. Their children were the first to have life jackets, there were no cribs or strollers, and they also learned to swim before walking. But in general, the boat does not pose a threat: fuses are initially located on lockers, there are no sharp corners, and raising children is just completely different than, for example, in London. Children do not go to the usual school and do not even follow the curriculum, however, Jess and James regularly study with them. Of course, their classes are different, training is more concentrated in the area of children's interests.

Well, the price of the issue? Life on a yacht seems like a luxury and what is allowed only to the rich. However, their endless journey is very budgetary. Of course, at first they invested all their savings in a yacht: the boat cost 45 thousand dollars. The vessel was not in very good condition and required repair. Then the couple handed over their apartment and house, housing, by the way, in their mortgage. They also have their blog on the Internet and social networks. Actually, that's what they travel for. In general, they live very modestly and spend no more than 26 thousand dollars a year, for the British this is not such a large amount.

And life on the yacht made them think about the environment and how people are attached to things, cluttered and how much garbage they produce. So the couple consciously refused a lot. They don’t even use disposable diapers and they cook almost everything from bread to cakes.

And for eight years, they have 36 countries, 42 thousand kilometers and an immense ocean. It seems that they are not planning to return to their native London.
