The results of the underwater festival in LUX * South Ari Atoll

The largest underwater festival in the Indian Ocean ended in the Maldives. For a week starting September 16th, LUX * South Ari Atoll held exciting excursions and seminars on diving and the study of marine life under the guidance of experienced experts. All participants of the event could learn in detail how the underwater shooting is carried out using high-tech drones, as well as where white sharks and the largest atoll turtles live. Daily workshops and dives supervised by the founder of the Marine Environmental
Project AWARE, Dr. Drew Richardson. The festival was also attended by LUX * South Ari Atoll biologist Mark Macmillan in partnership with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Team, Shark and Whale Research Group, Maldives.

Together with experts, the guests of the underwater festival organized daily dives to get to know the unique atoll coral reef and then discuss the global environmental problems that marine life faces today. Another topic of the event was underwater painting: in his works, the Maldivian artist Hussein Ifel urges the public to approach the protection of coral reefs with great attention. The festival ended with the presentation of underwater photographs taken during the week, as well as a barbecue on the beach in the unique atmosphere of the LUX * South Ari Atoll hotel.
