Once a photographer accidentally took a photo of the fall of the Berlin Wall, which became history

Today, Briton Mark Power is a famous photographer and member of the Magnum Photo agency. But once his career hung in the balance: success did not come and a desperate guy decided to abandon the shooting and become a joiner. A close friend of Power gave him £ 200 and offered to try his luck for the last time, going to eastern Germany to make a photo story about the life of the locals.

So, in November 1989, Mark Power was in the GDR, not suspecting that a few hours later he would witness historical events. Going out for a walk to Checkpoint Charlie, the photographer noticed an unusually large crowd of people. A stranger told him that the Berlin Wall was about to fall, and Power rushed into the hotel room behind the camera. Here are the photographs that the Briton took that day and which abruptly turned his career and his whole life.
