Strange photos and the true story of the tallest man in the history of mankind

When Robert Wadlow, the tallest man in the world, was born February 22, 1918, he weighed about 4 kg.

But already by his first birthday, the child weighed 20 kg, and his body length was 90 cm. The boy did not stop growing and at the age of 8 was already above his father. By age 13, he was the highest scout in the world. His height was 225 cm. And while studying in high school, the distance from the top of his head to Wadlow's heels grew to 256 cm.

The man’s unusual growth is due to the excessive activity of the pituitary gland, due to which his body continued to grow until his death.

As a child, Wadlow's parents tried to give the boy the most normal and familiar life for all children. They demanded that Robert do the same things as his brothers and sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Wadlow even ordered a special school desk for the child, suitable for its size.

Later in the life of Wadlow, the Ringling brothers appeared with their famous wandering circus. An incredibly tall guy has become part of their performance.

Throughout his life, Wadlow could not feel his limbs due to the explosive growth rate. In addition to such complications, hormonal imbalance has greatly affected life expectancy.

Robert Wadlow died in his sleep at the age of 22. His body reached a length of 272 cm.
