After enjoying the alien landscapes of Elton, we moved to the neighboring salt mecca of Russia - Lake Baskunchak. It produces up to 5 million tons of salt per year, which is about 80% of all production in the country. Similar to Elton, but at the same time a completely different lake, with its own character, colors, sounds and sensations. Having settled late in the evening in the sanatorium, having a rest, in the morning about 4 o'clock we moved out at dawn. The road to the lake from the place of residence in Baskunchak is much closer, and it is a little happy. This is not 5 km in Elton)) We come, lay out the tripods ...

The depth of Baskunchak is comparatively greater than Elton, and it is problematic to go neatly into the water edge. And yes, the main thing is not to forget when you get home to wash the tripod from the remnants of salt.

Dams and streams form bizarre rivers, in which the brine looks transparent blue and contrasts perfectly with the surrounding landscape.
