Hyperloop can connect Paris and Amsterdam as early as 2021

In Europe, already in 2021, the first line of Hyperloop may appear - a transport system invented by the entrepreneur and main dreamer of our time, Ilon Mask. On the continent, the project is being implemented by a development team from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Scientists took the matter seriously: they created the company Hardt Global Mobility, which is already building a test site.

Airmail plus the human pipeline from Futurama

The idea of Hyperloop is simple, like all ingenious. In the Mask project, people move in capsules along pipelines that stand on supports above the ground. The movement is due to low pressure and at tremendous speed: according to experts, the speed of such a capsule can reach 1220 km / h. The result is a cross between pneumatic mail and the transport system from the animated series Futurama.

Ilon Musk himself, who voiced this idea several years ago, immediately stated that he was not going to engage in its implementation (apparently, he was saving strength for Mars). But besides him, there were many who wanted to. Among them, Hardt Global Mobility, created by a team of developers from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. And she does not sit idly by, but works on the first in Europe test model Hyperloop.

While it does not really resemble part of a futuristic landscape. It’s just a plain 30 meter pipe. However, it contains the future of the wildest fantasies of science fiction writers. First, specialists will test all Hyperloop systems in this pipe at low speeds, in order to accelerate them to the maximum in 2019. But already in 2021 the first commercial trip between Amsterdam and Paris was planned. If the designers were not mistaken in calculations with the speed of Hyperloop, then its capsule will deliver passengers from the capital to the capital in just half an hour!

It is not surprising that the company without any problems found investors for the implementation of the test phase. And they are ready to go further and finance the construction of the entire line between Amsterdam and Paris.

Who is faster?

But the Dutch are far from the only ones who want to make the idea of Mask a reality. And although in Europe they really can become pioneers of Hyperloop, the American startup Hyperloop One is likely to take the world palm. The company is building a DevLoop test site in the Nevada desert and promises to publicly present it this summer.

In 2016, Hyperloop One signed an agreement with the UAE Ministry of Transport on the construction of a line between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It is assumed that this will reduce the trip between cities located 120 km from each other to 12 minutes. The launch of the line is also scheduled for 2021.
