10 little hippos to make your day better

Hippos are said to be about 55 million years old. They come from Africa, and their name from ancient Greek literally translates as "river horse." These animals are considered the third largest land mammals after elephants and white rhinos, and scientists call dolphins and whales their closest biological "relatives". The diet of hippos mainly consists of herbs. Life expectancy is 45 years.

Despite the rather harmless appearance, hippos have a reputation for being highly unpredictable and dangerous animals. But, when you look at these charming cubs, you can hardly believe in such frightening characteristics. No matter how terrible these giants are for a man, in childhood they are real cuties, from whom it is simply impossible to take your eyes off!
