Mom tells (she finished school at that time) that in March 1968 everyone was in shock, at first no one could believe in the death of the first cosmonaut of the Earth. There were different rumors, but due to the fact that they were not made public, there were even such that the crew flew drunk and without permission. But, of course, this was impossible.

Having visited the MiG-15 crash site in 1972, he recalls that there was no stele, there was only a circle of concrete.
