Sleeping Venice: hypnotic night landscapes of one of the most beautiful cities in the world

Today, Venice is impossible to imagine without a huge crowd of tourists among the stunning old buildings. However, Thibaut Poirier, a landscape photographer from France, managed to create exceptional pictures, for this he went for a walk through the magnificent city at night.

In this photo project dedicated to one of the most romantic and picturesque cities on the planet, Thibault dreamed of reflecting the timeless beauty of this place. According to the author of the pictures, it is much easier to do this here than, for example, in Paris or London, because you will not find cars on the Venetian streets that give out the image of the modern era.

In his Sleeping Venice collection, the tranquil expanse of canals becomes a mirror for light-lit lanterns of docks and weathered walls of brick buildings in warm colors. Poirier says that he first found the intersection of Venetian bridges and canals using Google Maps, and then went there on foot. Despite the fact that there is a lot of water in the works of Thibault, he took all the photographs while on land - from the ground, bridges and dead-end streets.
