Scientists have discovered a planet on which life may be discovered

At a distance of 31 light-years, NASA's TESS satellite discovered a planet on which life could probably be detected.

Man has always sought to find "brothers in reason" or to find the same planet as our Earth. Even in the works of the writer of the 2nd century, Lucian of Samosata, the meeting of people with the inhabitants of the moon was described. Thanks to the discoveries of Copernicus and Galileo, this topic again became popular in the Renaissance.

About countless worlds spoke Giordano Bruno. Adventurers flew to the moon in the works of Cyrano de Bergerac and Jules Verne. Voltaire expressed his assumptions about life on other planets. For the most part, great thinkers and writers expressed theoretical assumptions without any confirmed facts.

This summer, an international group of astronomers announced the discovery of a unique exoplanet called GJ 357 d. Scientists have defined it as a "potentially inhabited world" outside of our solar system. The fitness of the celestial body for life consists of several data: the presence of liquid water, the atmosphere, chemical diversity and a "star named the Sun."

Associate Professor of Astronomy Lisa Kaltenegger is convinced that with the help of telescopes it will be possible to make out traces of life. The planet contains a dense atmosphere, thanks to which it has water. This allows you to compare it with the Earth.

In an article in the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics, scientists talked about how a planet is about twice the size of Earth and has a lot more weight. The "Super Earth", as it is also called, lives in a distant galaxy where a small sun shines. At the same time, the size of the star is three times smaller than ours.

In addition to the discovered GJ 357 d, three more planets rotate nearby. The temperature on the surface of the super-earth is heated to 127 degrees Celsius. It revolves around its small sun and the rotation period is 55 days on Earth. Scientists noted that there are chemicals on the planet such as H2O, CO2, CH4, O3 and O2.

Lisa Kaltenegger noted that research will provide an opportunity to test new theories and models.

Reported exoplanets have been reported before. So, in 2009, NASA launched the Kepler apparatus, aimed at finding them.
On April 17, 2014, the agency announced the discovery of the exoplanet Kepler-186f in the constellation Cygnus. But life on it is most likely absent. The fact is that she is spinning around a red dwarf. So they designate the sun, which does not warm. In 2017, it was announced that three planets in the TRAPPIST-1 system with water and atmosphere were identified. In the same year, experts said they found oceans on a satellite of Saturn, Enceladus, under a layer of ice.
