Portraits of pets from the official animal photographer of Amsterdam

Amsterdam has a population of about one million people. This is a very motley, vibrant and international society. But, as the photographer Isabella Roosendaal considered, not only people deserve attention and interest in their person here.

So, Roosendaal decided to become the first official portrait painter of pets in the Dutch capital and capture as many amazing and bright favorites of the city residents as possible. She took up this fascinating affair commissioned by the leadership of the city archives. As a result, her wonderful project was framed in the book Animalia Amsterdam. In many pictures, animals appear together with their owners, which makes the series even more interesting.

Dirk, a two-year-old Scottish fold cat.

Baloo, a one-year-old French fold rabbit.

Flap, five-year-old Oriental breed cat.

Benno, a two-year-old giant snail.

Wilbur, one year old duck.

Babur, a six-year-old Afghan hound.

Speccy, a two-year-old miniature pig.
