Foam Japanese domed houses: original, fast and very cheap

"Housing of the XXI century" - that is what the Japanese company specializing in the manufacture of foam plastic houses called its brainchild. And while lovers of the classics continue to build houses of brick or concrete, progressive Japanese are mastering the technology of building the original domed houses, the construction of which takes only 2 hours.

Variants of polystyrene are widely used as heat-insulating material throughout the world, but Japanese engineers went further and decided to build entire buildings from it. The houses are small, with an area of about 40-60 square meters. m, but, according to architects, this is enough for a family of 3-5 people. Compact houses are assembled from ready-made blocks, which significantly reduces the cost and speeds up the construction process. In addition to polystyrene, blocks of polyurethane foam and polystyrene concrete are also used.

Ready-made factory blocks are installed on a prepared foundation, which are fastened together. The base of the building is a dome structure to which other elements can be attached. Perhaps the construction of two-story domed houses. From the outside, the house is covered with polyurethane foam, metallized coating, plaster or other composition that protects the house from ultraviolet radiation and the effects of rainfall.

Foam houses are very economical, both at the construction stage and in operation. The cost of a standard domed house without decoration is about 50-100 thousand rubles, and with decoration this amount will be only 150-200 thousand rubles. Given that the prices of standard apartments and houses in Japan are much higher, domed houses are able to solve the housing problem among low-income Japanese. Given the low thermal conductivity of the material, one air conditioner is enough to heat such a home, and in the summer heat there are no special problems with cooling.

Despite the apparent fragility, the wall thickness is enough to withstand snow and wind loads. In addition, the dome construction of houses is more stable in the event of earthquakes, which happen quite often in Japan.

The number of foam houses in Japan is growing every year, and even whole mini villages appear, completely consisting of small, like toy houses. The idea of compact and cheap houses found fans among Europeans and Americans, so foam plastic domed houses began to be built in other parts of the world.
