Ferri Sunarto returns with a new collection at the Indonesia Festival in Moscow

Moscow again welcomes the main fashion star of Indonesia, a designer from Jakarta, a man who devoted 23 years of painstaking work with such a rich cultural heritage of the country, each time using in his creations all the new elements of Indonesia’s multifaceted culture, creating sophisticated images, reinterpreting traditions, inventing over and over Indonesian kebayi (traditional shirt dresses).

As a key representative of the Indonesian fashion scene, Ferri Sunarto held many shows both in Indonesia and in other countries, proudly displaying a red and white flag to the world. In 2016, at the first festival in Moscow, Ferry Sunarto presented the show "Enchanted Bali" with Balinese endec fabrics, which became a real hit of the show. The following year, he used traditional Makassar and Java fabrics in his collection, demonstrating the diversity of Indonesian national fabrics.

This year, Ferry Sunarto will present a special collection, which includes 24 female images and 8 male ones. The Initiation collection was launched in collaboration with Batik Keris, a company that for several decades has preserved the tradition of painting batik in the Indonesian archipelago and offers handmade fabrics of the highest quality and incredible beauty and complexity of the pattern. This collection is a manifesto of a designer who devoted his whole life to promoting his beloved country, discovering its versatility through the images he created. In his new collection, Ferry Sunarto masterly combines tradition and exoticism with a modern style, using pastel colors of blue, mustard and burgundy.

The Indonesia Festival in Moscow is another opportunity for Ferry Sunarto and Batik Keris to show the world the skills of Indonesian artisans and the beauty of traditional batik.
