Pallini beach hotel overview - perfect beach and good service

I absolutely agree with the expression that Greece has everything, at least for an excellent comfortable stay. Hellas has been loved by our family for more than two decades: in childhood, we went with parents to relax in the local luxury resorts. The Peloponnese with the Ionian Sea and incredible historical sights - Ancient Olympia, the Epidavros Theater, Sparta, Kalavrita - traveled with her husband back in his youth. After more than once we rested on the islands I loved all my heart: the stunning historical Crete, Rhodes with charming cities, the party Zakynthos with the sunken ship and incredibly beautiful Kefalonia. More than once, Greece was chosen for its stunning nature, good hotels of a European level, incredibly tasty food and friendly people, at the same time so similar and not like Russian. This time they decided to go on reconnaissance of a territory hitherto unknown to us: on the Halkidiki peninsula, at the Pallini beach 4 * hotel. We went with a company from several families, which allowed us to comprehensively evaluate the infrastructure, different categories of rooms, get personal impressions and look at the hotel from different points of view.

Meeting and check-in

Settlement passed quickly, without problems, despite the fact that at the same time 20-25 people were populated. No cash incentives were required, despite the high season, each of our company was issued with the declared reservation numbers, responded to requests for the location of rooms close to each other.

As it turned out, not everyone is lucky in this way. Tourists said that they booked a bungalow, even on the eve of departure, the tour operator confirmed the reservation of the desired room. Upon arrival, it turned out to be a completely unpleasant situation: overbooking. Instead of the declared bungalow, guests were offered a room in the main building. What is even more disappointing, upon arrival at the hotel they were informed that everything was fine, an unpleasant moment was found out only when the keys to the room were issued. This situation has met repeatedly, and the representative of the tour operator, who owns the hotel, is in no hurry to resolve such conflicts. Instead, they offer rooms of a different level of comfort, and not at all in the bungalow, but in the buildings: a completely different format of relaxation. It is especially unpleasant that before this reservation was confirmed, and they do not offer money or bonus services for changing the room. In such cases, be sure to insist on your own, the reservation categories should provide the number accordingly. An extreme case, if you do not want to waste your time and nerves, is to tip you: you won’t get away with ten dollars, as they say, it’s worth preparing at least 50.

We were pleased that upon departure we were informed about the free service "number for half an hour." We have an evening plane, and eviction from our room at checkout time at 11 am. The bracelets are not removed, they are allowed to use restaurants and the rest of the infrastructure. We spent the day to good use, went to the beach, lay down by the pool. After they were allowed to use the free number: take a shower, take a break, put in order, prepare for departure. Despite the fact that most networks provide a similar service, it is pleasant that the reception staff independently told us about this opportunity.

Location Pallini beach 4 *

The hotel is located in Halkidiki, in the Kassandra region. It is located an hour and a half from the airport of Thessaloniki, so we got there quickly and comfortably. The nearest small town to the hotel is called Kallithea, you can get to it by taxi or walk for 20 minutes, however, you will have to go along a noisy highway. 100 meters from the entrance to the hotel there is a bus stop with a bus to the city.

Kallithea is a charming town saturated with the spa spirit of a slightly provincial, sleepy and calm Greece. There are many shops with souvenirs and farm products - vegetables, fruits, cheeses, wine. In the center there are a lot of clothing stores and spa products, many things of good quality and are cheaper than in Russia, especially if you get on sale: we didn’t have enough time for them, because the most favorable prices start from the end of July. During the day it’s nice to just go for a walk and wander around the shops, walk along the promenade with a wonderful view of the sea. In the evening, resort life begins to seethe: happy hours begin in bars, live music plays everywhere, discos open. Once we talked with the Greeks during the evening promenade, and they said that the discotheques of Kallithea are considered one of the most popular in Halkidiki, so young people from the entire peninsula come here to have fun.

I highly recommend visiting taverns in Kallithea. The prices are affordable, and the taste is beyond words, a real Greek feast. Fresh seafood: insanely delicious grilled sea bass, squids and mussels are incredibly juicy and fresh. Lamb dishes do well, especially stewed pulp with vegetables. And in combination with the abundance of Greek snacks, found only here sweet tomatoes and other fresh vegetables, lunch or dinner gives such gastronomic emotions that just for this you want to return to Greece again. The hotel restaurant, of course, is also tasty, but you can only taste the real taste and appreciate the incredible atmosphere in these real family taverns. Nearby there is the village of Kriopigi: a very small, but the local tavern seemed one of the most comfortable, with a varied menu and emotional atmosphere.

The territory of the complex

The hotel area is quite large because it is combined with the neighboring Athos Palace Hotel. Everything is very clean and well maintained, the tracks are regularly swept and washed. There are not many trees, so there are almost no shady areas. But there are a lot of shrubs: there are freely growing, sprawling, and there are decorative, to which local gardeners give a special form of pruning. A lot of jasmine bushes: a wonderful aroma comes out, I want to walk endlessly.

Entertainment and hotel infrastructure

The infrastructure of the complex is developed quite well: everything you need for a comfortable stay, without the desire to leave the hotel there is no need. There is even a small chapel typical of Greece: once they saw a wedding taking place there. You can play table tennis and beach volleyball for free, as well as do aerobics, conducted by animators. It is a pity that there is no gym: despite the relaxed atmosphere, I did not want to miss regular workouts. There are several tennis courts on site, but they are available at an additional cost. They also offer diving lessons and billiards, also at an additional cost.

I was very pleased that in the lobby and other public areas there is Wi-Fi, quite fast. It catches especially well in the lobby, videos were uploaded here without any problems. The rooms and bungalows are frankly weak: enough only for leisurely surfing, viewing mail. It’s almost impossible to watch the video, pictures on social networks load for a long time. On the territory of the complex there is a small mini market where you can buy essential goods, drinks and groceries.

The hotel has no evening entertainment and entertainment. Some were unhappy because they needed to go to a nearby hotel. We, on the contrary, are delighted: in the evening there is silence, noisy guests who want to have fun spend their leisure time outside the windows, you can relax peacefully, enjoying the open window and fresh night sea air. Although on Fridays there were noisy parties at the beach bar, the fun of which reached our bungalow. But as adequate people, we understand that being in absolute silence on the territory of the hotel, and not of the highest category, is almost unrealistic. They treated this inconvenience calmly: they walked longer, and then slept with the windows closed. Fortunately, the air conditioner did an excellent job with the task and worked quietly. Even in the evenings near the pool we listened to live music, not until late, sincerely. It is true that we are in joy - to the detriment of others. We learned that in the main building music is heard very well: lovers of silence should settle in a bungalow.

Animation and services for children

The hotel is great for children of any age. Lifts, wide walkways, the attitude of staff simply adoring kids creates the necessary atmosphere and conditions. The neighboring Athos Palace Hotel (shared by Pallini beach) has a playground: small but safe and children like it. There is also a kids club - excellent, although Greek hotels (compared, for example, with Turkish ones) are not particularly famous for such a service. Educators speak English - a universal language of communication. During our vacation there was a girl-educator from Russia: there were no problems with communication.

The program is mega-rich: the seven-year-old son disappeared in the mini-club for days, so he liked the activities. We were pleased with a large number of sports programs and active games: after all, on vacation, the child just needs to splash out energy. Every day there were master classes, creative studios, quests. In a playful way, children were taught to communicate, find a common language, and played games to develop logic and creative thinking. In the evenings, special children's show programs and mini-discos were held: for the most part, the kids were present, because school children are no longer very interested in such events.

The hotel is calm, especially the bungalow area on the middle line: during the day it is not visible from the beach, in the evenings there is silence: there is no music from the pool and the beach. As guests have access to a common area, including neighboring hotels, closer to the Athos Palace location it is getting noisier. On its territory there is a playground, a disco, evening animation.

The main contingent is Russians: youth, families with children and couples. Perhaps the resort’s unpopularity in terms of parties and the glory of Halkidiki as an “old man's” resort did their job, but there were no frankly noisy, ill-bred and abusive guests during our stay. The ethnic composition is of different sizes, about 50 to 50 Russians and Europeans: Italians, Romanians, Slovaks, Czechs. For the most part, representatives of Eastern Europe accounted for the bulk of foreigners vacationing in the complex.

Pools at the hotel

The central pool is spacious, clean, fresh water: a great alternative to the sea: skin and hair got tired of salt water, I just wanted to soak up the sun, periodically rinsing in clean water. Unheated pool: excellent in the heat, which stood for almost the entire vacation. The wind rose a couple of times, the weather became cloudy: then swimming in the pool is cool, evenings at dusk are also quite uncomfortable, especially for children. By the way, we were incredibly lucky: we flew off the peninsula on July 8, up to two days before a terrible storm hit it, which killed several people. Of course, they tried to find out everything possible about our hotel: fortunately, his element passed by, all the people were safe, and the infrastructure was not affected.

The infrastructure was not thought out a bit: when leaving the beach on the way to the pool there are no showers and fountains for washing feet, they were a little off from the main trajectory of vacationers. Many were too lazy to walk an extra dozen meters, so guests from the beach went straight to the pools. Because of this, there was a lot of sand on the sun terraces and in the pool itself.

In the outdoor freshwater pool there is a children's section where kids and preschool children can swim. Towels are handed out free of charge, but sun loungers are not always enough: you have to borrow in the morning, in the afternoon it is unrealistic to find free ones.

Beach: cleanliness, condition and arrangement

The beach is the main advantage of this hotel. Wide, rather long, with incredibly soft sand, which in the bright light of the sun seems snow-white. Although in fact it is a little yellowish. Part of the beach is covered with small pebbles, and the entrance to the sea is still sandy. In the pebbled part of the beach I liked the least: a lot of hedgehogs, a child can accidentally come, the consequences are not pleasant.

We rested in early July, there are just an incredible number of people, and tourists were accommodated on sunbeds and their own towels between them. Relaxing in such an environment is difficult: too crowded, bustling and noisy. Sun beds and umbrellas are paid, which is strange for a hotel that positions itself as a complex with its own beach. The price is quite high even by European standards, not to mention the belonging of the beach to the hotel: 7.5 euros per day. Beach towels were also provided at an additional cost, but you can use your own to save money.

The main advantage of Pallini beach is the beach

Water is just a fairy tale: clear, clean, without algae and jellyfish. A very comfortable entry into the sea, I can call it ideal: a soft sand underfoot, a gradual increase in depth, but you don’t have to go too long to start swimming. After about 20 m, a depth of about 2 m begins sufficient for swimming. We heard that the beach is considered one of the best in the region, and some neighboring hotels have rocky or concrete approaches to the sea instead of sandy beaches.

There is a water equipment rental point on the beach: catamarans, jet skis, kayaks. Water activities are also present: traditional "buns" and "bananas". There is also a tavern and a bar: I recommend both to visit.

Food and restaurants Pallini beach

During dinner, a dress code applies: of course, you can’t come in bathing suits. For men, shorts and the appearance of no shirt or t-shirt are prohibited. The main minus of the restaurant is the queue, especially in the middle of the time set for eating. Sometimes I had to stand at the door for 10 minutes, waiting until the tables were empty.

The menu is varied, just enough, except for fruit: the assortment is small, and besides, they didn’t bring extra ones when the first wave of restaurant visitors sorted the first lots. I was pleased with a separate table with traditional Greek snacks - tasty and unusual. They regularly hold theme nights of national cuisines of the world. A varied menu is complemented by waiters in appropriate clothing: they cheered up and had fun with all their heart. A nice bonus for a very traditional buffet.

The restaurant has a buffet. Any of the dishes offered can be taken independently in unlimited quantities, make any number of approaches to the tables with an assortment. Drinks are served by waiters: quick, so there were no problems with waiting, even during the hours of maximum workload of the restaurant. There is no children's menu, with young children it’s a little tough: even soups, simple broths, cereals, steamed vegetables and a bird are difficult to find. Fortunately, the location of the hotel in Greece eliminates the difficulty with heavily peppered or flavored dishes. Our seven-year-old managed to find food to their liking every time, however, picky children will have a hard time. Parents with babies who are in a mixture should choose a different placement option. There are no teapots in the rooms; in the main restaurant, asking for boiling water is a long time and is possible only during meals. The only option is a snack bar, but judging by the stories of the guests there, they are not particularly happy with such orders.

The menu has always been attended by:

• side dishes: rice, several types of pasta, stewed and grilled vegetables:
• 2-3 types of meat and poultry, including fried and stewed in different sauces;
• fried or stewed fish;
• seafood - mussels, squids, as a separate dish or as a part of pasta;
• 5-7 types of salads;
• incredibly delicious fresh vegetables - a stunning Greek salad was formed with their own hands;
• pickles, olives, sauces;
• bread of various types, loaves, pastries;
• 5-10 types of desserts, including ice cream.

In addition to the main restaurant, there are 4 more bars in the complex:

1. In the lobby.
2. Poolside snack bar.
3. Beach bar.
4. Tavern on the beach.

It is convenient that you can have lunch in the tavern if you want to spend the whole day on the beach and there is no desire to go to the main restaurant. Serving traditional Greek dishes, we recommend trying moussaka, grilled fish and meat dishes. Meals are also paid at the snack bar: lunch with drinks for two costs about 40 euros.

Beauty and spa at the hotel

The hotel has a beauty salon called Beauty & Nail Studio Escape. My husband and I went for a massage - they do quality, complete relaxation. A couple of times combined massage with face and body care procedures, did a moisturizing complex after tanning. I have very pale skin, so I rarely manage to tan: the usual two weeks of vacation are not enough for a persistent and rich shade, and more often I just burn. This time the tan was excellent, in my memory the darkest and most beautiful shade in recent years. For this I thank the specialists of the beauty salon and their miraculous preparations, which allowed my skin to feel great and absorb the burning Greek sun without harm. Also in the salon there are pedicure and manicure services, a depilation cabinet and many cosmetic procedures for body and face care.

A large company of several families went to the Pallini beach hotel, so there was an excellent opportunity to evaluate several categories of rooms at once. We booked a bungalow on the first line: go to the sea no more than a minute. Our best decision for many years of vacation: the feeling of living in your own house, comfortable interior and the opportunity to sit in the evenings on your own mini terrace, listening to the sound of the sea, are worth a lot. The only moment: the location so close to the beach opened an overview of our bungalow from the shore, so during the day we did not always feel comfortable.

The room is equipped with:

• air conditioning - worked flawlessly, quite quiet, cooled well;
• mini fridge;
• TV with several Russian channels.

A safe in the room is provided at an additional cost - for four stars it is not serious. There are free safe boxes in the lobby where you can leave, for example, a phone when you go to the beach so as not to spoil or lose equipment.

Frankly, there were not enough sockets: only 2 on the bungalow. I put the phones on charge and that's it: the camera and tablet are waiting in line. They did not put water in the minibar, did not provide tea and coffee, and a kettle was not provided in the room. Sometimes I really wanted to drink coffee in the morning without moving out to the restaurant and admiring the sea view, but the lack of the necessary details deprived such pleasure.

One of the main advantages of the hotel is its good location; all rooms have sea views. At a smaller part of the line: rooms located at the end of the main building. The rooms on the main and rear facades are also oriented to the sea, but the view is not direct to the horizon, but lateral, so you can see the sea and the surrounding area. Since the complex is not in the city, there are only a few hotels among the surrounding buildings, the panorama is absolutely free: the sea, sunsets and sunrises are perfectly visible from any room. Our friends were especially lucky: they got a room with a corner balcony, so they could admire the view from several sides, and the balcony was larger than the standard one. When we went up to their room, we even regretted a bit about choosing a bungalow from which the sea could not be seen. Still, it's wonderful to sit in the evenings with a glass of your favorite drink and watch the bewitching sea ripples and the magnificent resort landscape opening up.

We talked with other tourists and found out that the most uncomfortable rooms in the main building are located above the fan zone: too noisy. If they offer rooms 103, 105 and others located nearby, you should immediately refuse: you won’t be able to relax. Noise isolation in all rooms is lame, all movements and noises in the corridor are especially clearly audible, loud laughter and conversations with raised tones penetrate through the walls between the rooms.

The hotel has several buildings, some have not yet been renovated, so when distributing rooms during check-in, you must carefully consider the decision of receptionists. The oldest and the longest non-repaired building is called IRA: we entered, the impressions are bad. The rooms are many times worse than in the main and bungalows: shabby furniture, stains on the walls, noise insulation is useless.

It was said that literally before our arrival, an emergency occurred in the IRA building: in the bathroom, a glass door fell off the hinges, injuring one of the guests. Unacceptable situation, especially when you take into account the orientation of the complex to rest with children. The injured man only injured his arm with a broken glass; the child would have received a much more serious injury. The newest rooms in the main building: freshly renovated, quality furniture, new plumbing.

Housekeeping

Room cleaning took place daily: no complaints. I was pleased that the maids adhere to a strict schedule and clean only in the morning. Thanks to this, not once in 2 weeks of rest did they encounter them. They wash the floors, wipe off the dust, clean the plumbing, carefully lay out things on tables, cabinets, chairs and in the bathroom. Towels are changed daily, bedding every 2-3 days. If you drop to the floor, change immediately. The textiles are excellent - it is clear that it is not brand new, but of high quality, without spots, stains and holes. They didn’t leave a tip, without them they cleaned everything perfectly, there was nothing to complain about.

Reception, service and friendliness

The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and friendly. Waiters and bartenders are quick, open, ready to offer assistance in choosing drinks. At the reception they try to resolve any situation without conflict as soon as possible. A huge plus is that most of the staff speaks Russian, so they talked without problems.

Some employees stand out from the rest with a special friendly attitude. For example, one of the waiters in the restaurant with affability and participation conquered our company and many other vacationers. She will always be interested in how things are, how they went on excursions, what they liked, what an impression of the rest. Always promptly brings drinks, smiles, charges with a positive all around.

Hotel Pallini beach 4 * - an ideal ratio of a price / quality indicator, fully corresponds to the declared category and the general level of the European "fours". Resting here, we were not disappointed, but did not get anything beyond what was declared. In fact, an excellent result - you get exactly what you are waiting for. This means that the hotel adequately evaluates its own potential and does not try to deceive potential guests even at the time of advertising. The only serious minus is too many guests, which the hotel infrastructure cannot cope with. Not enough tables in the restaurant and sun loungers by the pool.

Pallini beach is an excellent "four" with comfortable rooms, just a stunning beach, competent and helpful staff, a beautiful large area, entertainment, quality and varied food. You should not expect special luxury and round-the-clock delicacies, but excellent service and developed infrastructure fully meet expectations. Pallini beach is a good option for families with children, whose special attention is devoted to leisure, which will give children an incredibly intense vacation, and adults will have the opportunity to relax, knowing that the child is in safe hands.
